EXCELERATE

IFB is a member of the ELIXIR European Infrastructure of Bioinformatics. The EXCELERATE funding (https://www.elixir-europe.org/excelerate/plants) will help ELIXIR coordinate and extend national and international data resources to ensure the delivery of world-leading life-science data services. It will support a pan-European training programme, anchored in national infrastructures, to increase bioinformatics capacity and competency. It will also provide efficiencies in management and operation throughout the infrastructure, which is distributed amongst 17 countries.

Duration: 01/09/2015 to 31/08/2019

Coordinator: Anne-Françoise Adam-Blondon

In this project the plateforme URGI has an important contribution in the WP7

Use case: Integrating Genomic and Phenotypic Data for Crop and Forest Plants

Design and test an infrastructure to allow genotype-phenotype analysis for crop and forest plants based on the widest available public datasets.

  • Make data interoperable (in line with the ‘FAIR’ principles specified in WP5 Interoperability) and discoverable through controlled vocabularies and standardised phenotypic APIs through which any participant can advertise the availability of their data
  • Annotate and submit key exemplar datasets to relevant public archives
  • Engage industry in defining priorities in genotype/phenotype annotations
  • Within the Training platform, deliver specific training for the use of developed resources
