The aim was to integrate all the data and results produced by the Génoplante scientific projects and to develop tools and data submission templates to load the data in databases and to query them. These data include EST, FST and BAC sequences, genetic and genomic maps, gene and QTL mapping, SNP, transcriptomics and proteomics.
GnpIS was developped for accessing these data through intuitive interfaces and analysing them. Its main missions were the management of the whole data produced by the different program partners. Génoplante-Info maintains the data or tools traceability between public and private partners, offer tools to biologists to query and analyze their data and to work in a secure and powerful bioinformatics environment. The goals of GnpIS are to allow scientists to access the data in order to increase knowledge in genomics, in particular on agronomical interest genes from plant resistance to biotic and abiotic factors, but also for a better understanding of genome structure and evolution, especially on Wheat, Grape and Maize species.
Génoplante-Info progressively releases the data generated by the Génoplante programs in the public domain. This site is regularly updated with new releases. A restricted area is also available for Genoplante partners to access to full data and softwares.
Using GnpIS, the platform is since 2000, the official repository of all Genoplante data .
