Oryza sativa
Rice (Oryza sativa) is the principal food for over half of the population of the world . With its genome size of 430 megabase pairs (Mb), the cultivated rice species Oryza sativa is a model plant for genome research and for cereals in particular.
This species is one focus of our research work on
genome dynamics
. We study how transposable elements play a role on its genome size variations
We work in collaborations with the
CIRAD
bioinformatics teams to share expertised rice data by CIRAD (genetic maps, annotations, mutant FST sequence -flanking sequence tag- ).
