Description
Next generation sequencing of viruses infecting sweetpotato in Israel: A collection of 42 symptomatic sweetpotato (Ipomoea batatas (L.) Lam) plants (cvs. Georgia and Beauregard) was made between 25th October 2011 and 26th August 2012 from commercial fields and mother plant producers in Israel. Plants were maintained in pots in a temperature-controlled greenhouse. For small RNA analysis, young symptomatic leaves were collected in December 2012, and pooled into three groups from which the libraries were prepared. Library SA483 consisted of extracts of 10 plants of cv. Georgia Jet. Libraries SA484 and SA485 (16 plants each) were extracted from a mixture of cvs. Georgia and Beauregard. Three small RNA libraries (SA483, 484 and 485) were prepared for Illumina sequencing in a single Illumina HiSeq 2000 flow cell.
