Description
Codonopsis lanceolata, commonly called bonnet bellflower, is a perennial plant species belonging to the Campanulaceae family and has long been used as a medicinal and vegetable plant in East Asia including Korea and China. The genomic resource of this plant species is very limited for understanding and breeding of this species at the molecular level. Therefore, we assembled the draft genome of a C. lanceolata accession cultivated in Korea using sequencing data generated by a third-generation (TGS) and a next-generation sequencing (NGS) technologies, such as Nanopore long read sequencing of Oxford Nanopore technologies (ONT) and short read sequencing of Illumina.
