Otherwise, larger fruits of this species are found in the variety that is not consumed. There is thus a possibility to improve the edible variety for fruit size. As, characterization of genetic resources is crucial in any breeding program, this project turns out to be crucial for potential breeding programs related to this plant that has long been neglected by breeders
