Description
Zinc deficiency is the most widespread micronutrient deficit in rice but Zn can be toxic to rice plants when present in excess. Due to its serious and wide-spread consequences on rice production and human nutrition, Zn deficiency is given a greater research attention than excess Zn. As a result, while Zn deficiency responses of rice plants are relatively well-characterized, their adaptive responses to excess Zn are poorly understood. Therefore, in this study, we comprehensively compared the transcriptomes of rice seedlings subjected to different levels of Zn supply in hydroponic nutrient solution for 3 days: Zn deficiency (0.002 micro molar), normal Zn (0.2 micro molar) and excess Zn (300 micro molar).
