Description
Ascochyta blight in pea, Pisum sativum, is caused by Didymella pinodes and other species of the fungal Didymellaceae family: Didymella pinodella, Ascochyta pisi and Phoma koolunga. Ascochyta blight is among the most significant diseases of pea crops worldwide. The plant transcriptome was sequenced in response to fungal infection with isolates of Didymella pinodes, Didymella pinodella and Phoma koolunga in a series of studies including mock-inoculated controls. The plant transcript reads served to study the plant response to infection and to complement the annotation of the reference pea genome assembly.
