Description
Mesocotyl is a very important organ for pushing buds out of soil after germination in maize. Deep seeding can improve adaption to water scarcity environment, but requires long mesocotyl of maize. However, the genes involved in mesocotyl elongation remains elusive. Here, we performed a genome-wide transcriptomic analysis of mesocotyl elongation at different developmental stages in maize. Many genes involved in various signal transduction pathway show dynamic changes during process of mesocotyl elongation. The findings would be helpful to understand the mechanism of mesocotyl elongation in plants.
