Description
Coix lacryma-jobi, called adlay or Job’s tears, is an annual herbal plant belonging to the Poaceae family and a its variety, Coix lacryma-jobi var. ma-yuen, has been cultivated as cereal and medicinal crop in Asia. The adlay genome sequencing project has been initiated in 2018 as a part of National Agricultural Genome Program (NAGP, http://nabic.rda.go.kr/nagp/) in Korea. The aim of this project is to generate draft genome sequence, genetic map and transcriptome profile of C. lacryma-jobi var. ma-yuen and finally to support comprehensive studies for molecular breeding, biotechnological approach and pharmacological research of this plant species.
