• Description: To understand how changes in DNA methylation disrupt gene expression and lead to pollen abortion, RNA sequencing was performed on at three stages of two genotype pollen. A total of 1,379 differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were identified of two genotypes at the pre-meiosis stage, with 1,191 up-regulated and 185 down-regulated genes in the mutant compared with the wild-type. At the meiosis stage, 909 genes were DEGs, and 527 genes were up-regulated and 382 were down-regulated . A total of 4,120 DEGs were identified, 2,570 genes up-regulated and 1,550 down-regulated at the anther dehiscence stage.
