Description
Eclipta prostrata (EP) commonly known as bhringaraj is a very important ayurvedic plant. The medicinal properties of this plant is attributed to the unique bioactive molecules synthesized by this plant specially “Wedelolactone” and “ecliptine”. In this present study, we aim to identify genes involved in wedelolactones biosynthesis and elucidation of putative biosynthetic pathway using integrated metabolomics and transcriptomic approach. For the study, mature EP plants were selected, shoot amp; root tissues were harvested and freeze in liq. Nitrogen for RNA isolation. Tissue specific paired end RNA sequencing was done in duplicate using Illumina NextSeq500.
