Description
Background:Salicornia europaea L. (common names: glasswort, saltwort, samphire) a succulent obligatory halophyte is the most salt-tolerant plant species known, which can withstand more than 1000mMNaCl. We analyzed the transcriptome to gain insight into its genes involved in salt tolerance. Method:To study the halophytes response in saline ecosystems via Illumina sequencing approach we collected S. europaea samples from two salt affected sites (with distinct salinity parameters) in central Poland during two seasons (fall and spring).
