Description
Most of Dendrobium species are highly drought-tolerant herbs which habits on the surface of xylophyta and (or) naked rocks. Dendrobium catenatum (= Dendrobium officinale) is a facultative Crassulacean Acid Metabolism (CAM) species with changeover between C3 and CAM photosynthetic pathways under sufficient water and drought. Hence the orchid can serve as a material for studying the transformation between the two photosynthetic pathways. This transcriptome sequencing data set facilitates functional studies in CAM and drought-tolerant mechanisms of Dendrobium species.
