Description
Rice was engineered to be apomictic using a ectopic expression in rice egg cells of a pluripotency factor normally provided by rice sperm cells. In combination with the MiMe system (Turning rice meiosis into mitosis: Mieulet, 2016) clonal propagation through seed was achieved. This results in diploid clonal progeny from diploid plants. The data in this BioProject includes the whole genome sequence of wild-type, a progenitor plant and 4 clonal progeny in 2 generations.
