Description
The aim of this study, therefore, was to analyze RA production in H. benghalensis seeds and reveal the biosynthesis and regulation of RA in H. benghalensis seeds at the gene transcription level. Firstly, the fatty acid profile and oil content of H. benghalensis seeds at six developing stages were analyzed. The developmental transcriptome analysis of H. benghalensis seed was then conducted by a joint analysis with second-generation sequencing (SGS) and single molecule real-time sequencing (SMRT). The different expressions of functional transcripts encoding vital enzymes associated with lipid biosynthesis and metabolism were analyzed at different seed developmental stages. The key transcription factors and long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) correlated with lipid-related genes were identified from the SMRT full-length transcriptome sequencing data, and the key transcripts correlated with key lipid genes were predicted by co-expression network analysis.
