Description
Eucalyptus globulus is the main forestry species grown in temperate climates, due to its exceptional wood quality, combined with fast growth. However, it is highly susceptible to cold stress (especially to late frost). E. globulus is capable of developing certain degree of frost tolerance when is exposed for some days to low temperature but non-freezing. This phenomenon is called cold acclimation (CA). To identify the genes related to CA process, plants of one genotype of E. globulus were exposed to CA profile (three treatments) in a chamber. A total of 18 libraries of mRNA (1 genotype, 3 treatments, 2 tissues, 3 replicates) were sequenced on Illumina single read HiSeq next generation sequencing (2 lanes per pooled library).
