• Description: Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) are able to form mutualistic symbiosis with most land plants, and providing mineral nutrients to plants in exchange for photosynthates. Citrus trees have rare root hairs and thus heavily rely on AMF for nutrient uptake from soil.
