Description
In this study we present the first comprehensive characterization of the Abelmoschus esculentus L. Moench using 454 pyrosequencing. One sequencing run using a normalized cDNA library from Abelmoschus esculentus L. Moench leaves to biotic stress conditions generated 13,30,597 reads, which assembled into 20,033 contings and 48,944 singletons. By similarity search against protein database, putative functions were assigned to over 68,968 uni ESTs. Comparison with ESTs derived from cultivated okra cultivars revealed expressed genes across Medicago truncatuala as reference genome database through CLC genomics workbench. From the result after mapping genes we have found that ribulose biphosphate carboxylase/oxygenase activase, photosystemII CP43 chlorophyll apoprotein, Ycf68 and RRNA intron encoded homing endonuclease genes may regulate resistivity/susceptibility in okra genotypes.
