Description
Dependent on vascular cambium activity, woody plants keep perennial growth and survive for many years. However, little is known about the molecular mechanism involved in the formation of vascular cambium, which is developed from fascicular and interfascicular cambium in woody plants. In this study, we analyzed the vascular cambium formation process in Populus and found that suppression of PtrHB4 function defected vascular cambium formation due to failure of interfascicular cambium development.
