Description
Goss’s wilt (GW) of maize, caused by the Gram-positive bacterium Clavibacter michiganensis subsp. nebraskensis (Cmn), has spread in recent years throughout the Great Plains, posing a threat to production. The genetic basis of plant resistance is unknown. In this project, highly resistant and highly susceptible lines were selected as extreme phenotypes (XP). Whole genome shotgun sequencing data of bulked XP resistant and susceptible lines were used for Genome-wide association (GWAS) and copy number variation analyses (CNV) to reveal GW disease-associated genomic loci.
