• Description: Sunnhemp is an important tropical legume producing stem fibre of commercial importance. It is also used in green manuring and has a good potential as a biofuel crop. Breeding in sunnhemp is seriously impeded due to its self-incompatibility nature. Genomic resources in sunnhemp are scarce to study this self-incompatibility barrier. An RNA-seq analysis from unopened flower buds of SUN-053 cultivar was performed using Illumina NextSeq platform in order to identify genes related to self-incompatibility and discovery of EST-SSR markers.
