Description
Peucedanum praeruptorum Dunn, also known as Bai-hua Qian-hu, is widely employed as antitussive, anti-asthma and as a remedy for angina in traditional Chinese medicine. Coumarins are major bioactive components are widely used and studied because of their valuable pharmacological properties. However, little is known in its biosynthesis and transport mechanism at molecular level for there is no nucleotide sequences in public database. In this study, pyrosequencing-assisted transcriptome of Peucedanum praeruptorum Dunn was first analytically analyzed to identify the putative genes involved in coumarins biosynthesis and transport.
