Description
Cucumber, Cucumis sativus L., is an economically important vegetable crop that is processed or consumed fresh in many countries. However, the narrow genetic base in cucumber makes it difficult for construction of high-density genetic maps. Specific-length amplified fragment sequencing (SLAF-seq) is a recently developed marker technology that allows large-scale SNP discovery and genotyping at a reasonable cost. This study aims to create a saturated SNP-based genetic map for cucumber using intra-varietal crosses, and used it to anchor scaffolds as well as detect fruit-related QTLs.
