Description
Phenotypic variation of complex traits such as human diseases and crop yield are controlled by multiple genetic loci. Comprehensive identification of genetic loci will help us better understand the molecular and evolutionary mechanisms of trait variation. We developed a fast and cost-effective method to map the theoretically maximum number of genetic loci underlying a complex trait in a model plant. Our approach provides a powerful solution to harness the genetic potential of plant and animal germplasms to increase crop and livestock performance, and will expedite the pace of uncovering genetic architectures underlying complex traits for many organisms.
