Description
Mango (Mangifera indica L.) is the third largest tropical fruit in terms of production and imports, and fifth of all fruits that are marketed in worldwide. However, mango fruit is a highly perishable, which limits its availability in the markets. Insufficient genomic resources for mango are available in public databases, so it is limiting factor to obtain a deeper understanding of the molecular mechanisms involved in mango fruit ripening. Therefore, the objective of the present study was to gain an understanding of the molecular mechanism underlying the changes in mango fruit peel during ripening by using High Throughput RNA Sequencing of ripe and overripe fruit transcriptomes.
