Description
Oryza punctata is a wild rice species native to Africa. It has a BB genome. Breeders are interested because of demonstrated resistance to bacterial blight and brown plant hoppers. Two libraries were produced. A 12X coverage BAC library was used to generate an FPC map. A shotgun library of randomly sheared DNA was used to generate sequence for repetitive DNA analysis.
