• Description: Guinea yam (Dioscorea rotundata) is one of the most important staple foods in West and Central Africa. Here we reconstructed the reference genome of D. rotundata with long-reads generated by PromethION sequencer of Oxford Nanopore Technologies, instead of mate-pair jump reads (in version 1). The contigs included in the reference genome were assembled by Flye assembler and polished by pilon.
