• Description: The goal of this project is to determine the differentially expressed genes during the transition from the vegetative to reproductive meristem cells in a cultivated strawberry Tochiotome. To achieve this goal, plants were grown under floral inductive condition (short day and low temperature) or non-floral inductive condition (long day and high temperature) and meristem cells were isolated using a laser microdissection (LM) technique. Then, total RNA was extracted from the LM-isolated tissues and RNA-seq libraries were prepared with the SMART-Seq v4 Ultra Low Input RNA Kit for Sequencing (Clontech Laboratories) and the Low Input Library Prep Kit v2 (Clontech Laboratories). The libraries were sequenced on HiSeq2000 (illumina) with paired-end 100 bp.
