Description
Balangeran (Shorea balangeran) belongs to Dipterocarpaceae family distributing naturally in Indonesia with wide range of ecological conditions including peat swamp forests and dry land even in burnt area. Good adaptability of balangeran remains unknown with respect to molecular (genetic) responses that are important to provide scientific knowledge for supporting forest restoration especially in peatland restoration efforts. The main objective of this research was to analyze the ecological diversity and genetic diversity of balangeran in two types of forest: peat forest (wet land) and heath forest (dry land).
