• Description: We conducted sequencing analysis of retrotransposon insertion sites for linkage map construction in sweetpotao. Cl8 was identified as a novel retrotransposon family which shows high insertion polymorphisms among sweetpotato cultivars. These insertion sites can be utilized as a molecular marker. Thus, we sequenced a number of Cl8 retrotransposon insertion sites using F1 mapping populations derived from two sweetpotato cultivars via Illumina high-throughput sequencing platform. Using those insertion sites, we constructed high-density linkage maps in sweetpotato.
