• Description: To develop the SNP markers and construct the complete chloroplast genome of Asarum species (Aristolochiaceae), we sequenced the chloroplast genomes of three Asarum species (Asarum sakwanum var. stellatum, Asarum costatum, and Asarum minamitanianum) by using Next Generation Sequencers. The chloroplast genome of this genus has ever been reported and registered. The information of the chloroplast genome of Asarum species would be important for understanding the evolution of Basal angiosperms. Furthermore the developed markers which detect the SNP would be useful not only for the evolutionary studies, but also for investigating the conservation studies of this genus including a number of endangered species.
