Description
Tanakaea radicans is a small evergreen herb species, which is disjunctly distributed in Japan and SW China. The populations in Japan can propagate themselves by clonal growth, while establishment from the seeds can be also possible. To characterize the contribution of sexual and asexual reproduction in these populations and to infer the historical population dynamics, genetic markers applicable to the entire populations are needed. For this purpose, RNS-sequencing of Tanakaea radicans was performed, from which multiple EST-SSR markers are to be developed.
