Description
A number of 34 cultivated or wild rice genomes, including the doners of CSSLs, are resequenced in depth (average coverage=56X) by using the NGS technology. Whole genome de novo assembly and reference mapping of NGS reads are conducted to characterize the genome-wide diversity within the population of Asian cultivated rice. Based on sequence variations, such as SNPs and Indels, and observed phenotypes between each accessions, allele mining on traits, particularly in relation to the heading-date of rice plants is performed. A genome browser of TASUKE is used to show the details of our results obtained from the above analysis, which should provide a fundmental platform for the future genomic and function studies as well as molecular breeding in rice.
