Description
This project aims to develop novel sets of nuclear genetic markers of a temperate herb species of Deinanth bifida. The genus Deinanthe has a wide distribution across South Japan and Central China, but the populations occur very sporadically with vast ranges of distribution gaps in East China. Considering the distribution gap, probable range contraction events were expected to have taken place, which can be detected as population genetic demographic signature in its genome sequences. To reconstruct the population demography and genetic structure of this species, genome sequencing of one Deinanthe bifida individual was performed to obtain useful polymorphic genetic markers.
