• Description: Whole genome sequence of bitter gourd (Momordica charantia) was analyzed using short read sequencing. Plant material was a monoecious inbred line, OHB3-1 in Okinawa, Japan. A paired-end library and several mate-pair libraries were prepared and sequenced by Illumina MiSeq or HiSeq2500. Sequence reads were assembled and scaffolds were developed using ALLPATHS-LG.
