Brandvik has status as protected landscape area and is situated in the fjords of south-western coast of Norway. The terrain is east facing and hilly including steep parts and has a rich water content usually all year around. The soil is calcareous and fertile, the vegetation is very diverse and rich and the climate favourable. More information is available at http://faktaark.naturbase.no/Vern?id=VV00001585. To do fieldwork there is need for a permit from the county governor in Hordaland.
