Situated in southern Norway, 8 km nortwest of Grimstad. About 30 minutes walking from the road. Nature reserve, private owned. Parts of the forest is well managed. The site has been used as seed source for Quercus petraea, known for its good genetic quality. Where the forest has been managed, the trees are straight and tall, the unmanged parts have smaller trees. The terrain is bumped with steep slopes and large stone blocks. The bedrock consists of coarse granite, dominant soil type is brown soil.
Target species: Quercus petraea. Most common tree species: Quercus petraea, Quercus robur, Picea abies, Pinus sylvestris. Other tree species: Tilia cordata, Taxus baccata, Corylus avellana, Populus tremula.
Age distribution: uneven. Stand structure: multi-layer.
