11 Dec 2017   Distributed plant phenotyping data integration: challenges and feedback from French and international consortiums

Pommier, C.

Modern Big data approaches are organized following four Vs: Volume, Veracity, Velocity and Variety. This latter one describe very well plant sciences and especially plant phenotyping. Therefore, integrating and linking data needs not only technical solutions but also data management best practices. We will see what are the existing data standards, how they have been applied in several platforms and projects involving INRA and what technologies have been used for their implementation. This will be illustrated by examples of Wheat phenotyping networks, high throughput phenotyping platforms and data standards from the Wheat Initiative WheatIS.
